Sr. Procurement Specialist:

The Company: Temple Allen Industries ( is a fast-paced aerospace technology firm in Rockville, MD, just outside of Washington D.C. While still a small company, we have built a prestigious client list of aerospace industry giants, including Boeing, Airbus, Gulfstream, Lockheed Martin, and the US Air Force. We believe in delivering complete solutions to our clients rather than just selling products, and we therefore work very hard to know our client’s personnel and processes better than a more typical supplier.

We're looking for a rigorously organized individual to perform Purchasing tasks efficiently and reliably. These include checking prices and purchasing standard parts and supplies, coordinating quote requests from engineering, submitting purchase orders, tracking the delivery schedule, updating various spreadsheets, and handling associated correspondence. While this is a relatively entry-level position, we are hoping to hire someone we can train to handle progressively more responsibility.

Given the size of the firm, you will be working closely with everyone, particularly the engineers, so your reliability and communication skills are critical. Employees who excel at Temple Allen are self-driven, well organized, and can succeed with minimal oversight or direction. Positions are performance-based. The Purchasing role integrates functions which overlap with Engineering, Operations, Management, and Business Development personnel, so your desire to keep things running smoothly and empower everyone around you is critical.


  • Conduct procurement of all materials, parts, and products - including the tracking of purchase orders, correspondence, delivery schedules, inspections, and approvals, and regularly updating internal documentation and source material
  • Help maintain procurement, financial, and scheduling spreadsheets
  • Follow company procedures throughout the purchasing activity - from Engineering RFQ and POR submission forms thru vendor invoice payments
  • Properly file all purchasing-associated hard-copy documents
  • Other duties as assigned

Basic Qualifications:

  • 1-2 years Purchasing experience
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office (particularly Excel)
  • Experience with Quickbooks Online a plus
  • Experience with ERP systems a significant plus
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly focused on organization, details, and execution
  • Able to excel in a fast-paced environment with minimal oversight
  • Knowledge of clerical and administrative procedures and systems
  • Highly motivated, dependable, responsible, and energetic
  • Able to multitask

Commensurate with skills and experience. Expected starting range is $40K-$60K. This is a salaried, performance-based position, with flex-time arrangements possible. Pay and performance are reviewed and adjustments made as appropriate
